I have nothing to compare this to and I have no idea how accessible this technology is in other forms. For me this is essentially a Plug and Play device for my phone. I didn't need to do anything or set up anything special it just plugged into my phone and gave me a thermal image of whatever I pointed it at. I like its Simplicity I like that it seems to work and be accurate.
I have a very particular use for this and will be testing some theories which is exciting for me that it's this effective at this reasonable price point. I don't need super high resolution and I don't need exact temperatures so I don't know if it's exactly what you are looking for but it seems to be accurate and Visually excellent enough for me. I will provide a photo of my house and you can see the heat inside the doorway.
Seems to me this could be used as a very expensive thermometer. You can point it and get the temperature of whatever you're facing. Amazing. I don't know at what distance is it is accurate but my initial impression is pretty good.

I had no idea if this would work with an iPhone 15, but it does work if you purchase the adapter from Apple (USB-C to Lighting).
It is a bit to get used to, having this unit attached to the short dongle adapter from Apple, but it does allow you to tilt and point the FLIR ONE toward the target area, without having to rotate the phone itself.
I did not test the accuracy of the thermometer, but it is clear that it depicts the true nature of temperature variation.
This tool takes the guess work out of finding thermal loss in my house.
The image quality onto the iPhone15 is good. The ability to take pictures on the iPhone make for easy studying of those images later.
I would say it paid for itself day 1, because i was easily able to decide what areas of the house were worth spending time and money to address thermal loss.
